Tod McCrea

VP of Sales and Marketing

Tod McCrea leads business development and sales & marketing at The InStar Group, bringing over 20 years of rail industry experience to the team.  He has led strategic sales initiatives across the industry, partnering with a wide range of customers and commodity groups to deliver tailored solutions.  Before joining InStar, Mr. McCrea led sales & marketing efforts for American Railcar Industries and its successor, AITX—a prominent provider of railcar manufacturing, repair, and leasing. He leveraged a customer-focused approach to drive sales and support the growth of new railcar types to the market. Tod began his career in the rail industry at Mitsui Rail Capital, where he managed railcar fleets for MRC’s customers. His strong analytical approach led to a transition into portfolio management for MRC’s owned fleet. These contributions and performance led to his advancement into the role of Director of Sales and Marketing.

Mr. McCrea is a graduate of Iowa State University and resides in the Chicago area.
