Tank Cars
- Specialty tank cars that are used to transport chemicals or compressed gases in liquid form in pressure or non-pressure applications.
- Products range from alcohol to xylene and may be classified as hazardous or non-hazardous in nature.
- The cars are typically loaded from the top of the car and may be unloaded through either top or bottom outlet valves.
- Gallon – 10,000 to 33,000

Covered Hopper
- Designed to protect and transport dry bulk commodities such as cement, agricultural products, unrefined food products and plastic pellets.
- The cars are loaded though hatch openings in the roof and are unloaded through bottom outlets by gravity, gravity pneumatic or pneumatic operations.
- Cubic Feet – 3,200 to 6,580

Pressure Differential Covered Hopper
- An adaptation of a standard covered hopper with the ability to be unloaded by applying air pressure to the interior of the car to force the commodity out of the car and into a receiving vessel at the unloading site.
- The Pressure Differential car is most commonly used for commodities that require sanitary applications or that are difficult to handle by other means.
- Cubic Feet – 3,200 to 5,800

Gondolas
- Open top freight cars typically used for dense commodities such as steel coils, scrap metals and construction debris.
- The cars do not have bottom unloading capability.
- Cubic Feet – 2,500 to 4,000

Open Top Hopper
- Freight cars without a roof for bulk commodities such as coal, stone, wood chips or cottonseed hulls.
- The cars may or may not be equipped for bottom unloading depending on the commodity.
- Cubic Feet – 2,500 to 7,200

Flat Cars
- Flat deck cars without sides or bulkheads that are used to transport oversize loads such as steel plate, machinery, pipes and transformers.
- Length – 55′ to 89′

Box Cars
- Closed top, sift proof cars with side loading and unloading typically used for finished or bagged cargo ranging from auto parts, consumer goods, paper and food products.
- Cubic Feet – 4,000 to 7,000
